Tasos Giapoutzis was born in Kavala, Greece in 1987. At the age of 23 he got a Bachelor of Civil Infrastructure Engineering in Thessaloniki. After completing his military duty, his passion for filmmaking brought him to UK. There he studied Media Production (Moving Image) at the University of Bedfordshire where he received the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Throughout the years, he has written, directed and produced several short films having participated at numerous international film festivals across the world. In October 2013 he received the "New Director" Odysseus Award at the 6th London Greek Film Festival for his short documentary It’s a Good Life
In 2013, he was selected for an international film project in St. Petersburg while in June 2014 he participated at the FEST-Training ground in Espinho, Portugal.
These days, while developing his personal projects, he works as a freelancer in UK as well as internationally.
